Hello there! Welcome to my personal page.
I am a Senior Research Fellow at the Norwegian Institute for International Affairs (NUPI), where I work in the Research Group for Peace, Conflict and Development. My main areas of expertise are the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda, norm diffusion, Mali and qualitative research methodologies.
In 2020 I completed my PhD on ‘Normative Encounters between the “Global” and the “Local”: Women, Peace and Security in Mali and Rwanda’, which explores the processes that take place when global gender equality norms embedded in the Women, Peace and Security agenda are promoted in societies transitioning from war to peace. My research has been published in leading international peer-reviewed academic journals such as International Affairs, the Journal of Modern African Studies, Swiss Political Science Review, and Third World Thematics.
For the past eleven years I have worked in the field of Women, Peace and Security. Thematically, my expertise is in the area of peace processes, where I have worked on mediation, negotiation, and women’s participation. I am also an expert on Mali, in particular the peace process and women’s participation, but also on social and political affairs, in particular pertaining to peacebuilding, civil society, and women’s empowerment. Finally, I have worked on a large range of topics connected to the WPS agenda, including UN peacekeeping, security sector reform, women’s participation in peace negotiations/processes, gender in mediation, and violent extremism.
I am currently working on developing this page, so more content will be added soon.
